Engaging Family Medicine, Advancing Universal Health

ENGAGE: The PAFP 66th Annual Convention — March 3, 2027 (Pre-Convention) · March 4–7, 2027 (Convention), Gateway Mall 1 & 2 Cinemas · Novotel.

About the Convention

Family medicine at the heart of Universal Health Care

Since 1960, the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians, Inc. has championed the family physician as the first and continuing point of care for every Filipino. Each year, the Annual Convention brings members together to learn, reflect and renew that commitment.

This year's theme, “Engaging Family Medicine, Advancing Universal Health”, calls on family physicians to engage — with patients, families, communities and the health system — so that the promise of Universal Health Care becomes real in every clinic and barangay.

Convention objectives

  • Update family physicians on evidence-based approaches to common conditions seen in primary care.
  • Strengthen the family physician's role as navigator within primary care provider networks.
  • Showcase research, quality improvement and community programs led by PAFP members.
  • Build fellowship and collaboration among the Academy's chapters nationwide.

Messages

A word from our leaders

“Sixty-six years after our founding, the Academy remains true to one conviction: that every Filipino family deserves a doctor who knows them. This convention is our invitation to engage — with one another, with our communities, and with the health system we are building together.”

Dr. Juan dela Cruz

President, PAFP

“We have designed this year's program around the realities of practice: the clinic, the barangay, the referral network. Expect learning you can use on Monday morning, and a fellowship that reminds you why you chose family medicine.”

Dr. Rosa Fernandez
